By far the most common type of floor we restore in Bristol are floor boards. Made of pine wood, they are found in almost every home in this great city. Expertly sanded and lovingly finished they become an eye catching asset to any room. We are usually the last trade in to finish a room so we get to see the end result in all its glory along with our delighted customer!
Often we are re-sanding a floor that has been restored previously but is now showing signs of wear and tear, so is in need of a new surface and one of our range of tough finishes. A little more of a challenge is when a customer uncovers a floor which has never been sanded before and would love to see it transformed and finished to their own specification. Floor restoration
Like decorating, most of the work is in the preparation. Rarely have we come across of pine floor in Bristol which hasn’t been cut, drilled or parts of it replaced to fit new electrics or plumbing. Before any sanding takes place your floor needs to be made sound, broken boards replaced, joints tidied up, holes and gaps filled, screws replaced with nails etc. All of this work makes for a superior finish to your floor.
Sanding

Staining
This is when things can get very interesting! Thanks to our suppliers (who never seem to rest) we are able to offer you a wide choice of colours. You can choose from subtle stains which are designed to ‘knock the edge off’ bright pine or darker colours from browns all the way to black. On the flip side you can go all out and have any colour of the rainbow or in fact an actual rainbow!

Finishing
You don’t have to stain your floor, you can go for the natural look and apply a choice of two finishes. Lacquers are hard wearing and are simple to maintain but will scratch easily. Oils and wood are a match made in heaven if you are looking for the most natural look, but will need more attention to keep looking good. The plus side is that once re-oiled, they can look almost new again, time after time.
